Aramaki OP17-059 would mainly benefit purple midrange or Navy/Admiral decks that can ramp DON!!, recover spent DON!!, or otherwise operate comfortably while paying the additional DON!! cost; it provides an 8,000-power Blocker, replaces itself, and can clear two small Characters, making it useful against low-cost swarm decks and aggressive boards. However, its 7-cost requirement and DON!! −1 cost are significant, and its removal is ineffective against larger Characters, so it is too slow and narrow for most competitive purple lists. In the same general role, Queen ST04-005 is usually a better value card because it costs less and provides efficient hand filtering, while King ST04-004 is generally better when you specifically need removal because it can KO a higher-cost Character; broader answers such as Gravity Blade Raging OP06-058 are also preferable when your deck can use events.
