Aramaki OP17-059 would mainly benefit purple midrange or Navy/Admiral decks that can ramp DON!!, recover spent DON!!, or otherwise operate comfortably while paying the additional DON!! cost; it provides an 8,000-power Blocker, replaces itself, and can clear two small Characters, making it useful against low-cost swarm decks and aggressive boards. However, its 7-cost requirement and DON!! −1 cost are significant, and its removal is ineffective against larger Characters, so it is too slow and narrow for most competitive purple lists.
