The Deck
The new One Piece TCG set, OP10 - Royal Blood, is among us, and, obviously, we all want to build new decks with it. The new leaders from this set feature well-thought-out, complex mechanics. If you're looking for something that really challenges you, then they're perfect for you! Today, we'll discuss a list that isn't competitive yet, but could be soon - green and yellow Trafalgar Law (OP10-022)!
Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law is the doctor and Captain of the Heart Pirates, and his story is full of hidden meanings. He has survived a disease that killed all of his family, and conquered the hearts of many fans.
This is the third Trafalgar Law leader in OPTCG. In the past, the red version, Trafalgar Law (OP01-002), and the purple and red version, Trafalgar Law (ST10-001) were the main stars of incredibly iconic lists in One Piece TCG. So, we all expect a lot from this new version. More specifically, we expect a list full of interesting interactions and enough potential to dominate the meta!
The Heart of the Deck: Trafalgar Law (OP10-022), the Leader

Trafalgar Law (OP10-022) is a green and yellow leader with 5000 power and 4 life. He is both a Dressrosa, Supernova, and Heart Pirate, which means he interacts with many archetypes and cards at once. He also has the Slash attribute, which interacts with a few support mechanics.

Let's take a closer look at his ability:
DON!! x1 | Activate: Main | Once per turn
"If the total cost of your characters is 5 or more, you may return 1 of your characters to the owner's hand: reveal 1 card from the top of your life cards. If that card is a Supernova character card with a cost of 5 or less, you may play that card."
This ability opens an array of possibilities for us. We'll discuss them later on.
The Deck
Please note that this list plays 13 +2000 Counter, 24 +1000 Counter, and 13 cards with no "Counters", also known as Bricks.
Strategy
Ad
This deck combines "Tempo" and "Toolbox" elements, so you'll set up your strategies step by step with micro-decisions that all add up until you turn the game to your favor. The overall game plan is simple: buy time, get the right answers, and surpass your opponent on the way to victory. Each decision matters!
The Cards

Monkey.D.Luffy OP10-111 is, perhaps, the true beating heart of this deck. For just 1 DON!!, his On Play effect lets you look at the top 5 cards in your deck, and add a Supernova card from there to your hand. This entire list is built around this card and getting the most out of it, so it has the right tools for every match, including +2000 Counters.
You'll target Monkey.D.Luffy OP10-111 with your leader's ability quite often, so you'll return him to your hand and play him again, which will let you draw multiple times. Curiously, this Luffy also enables certain interactions, like Enel OP05-100 and Boa Hancock OP07-051, which work when Monkey.D.Luffy is in play. Underestimating this card is a big mistake.
Jewelry Bonney ST02-007 is the second searcher in this list. She doesn't have an On Play ability, but all you need to do is tap her and pay 1 DON!! to get another Supernova from your deck. If, for any reason, you can't use On Play effects, she is critical. As if that weren't enough, she also works as a pseudo-blocker. After all, your opponent doesn't want you to draw another card on the following turn!

Capone"Gang"Bege OP10-103 lets you manipulate your Life cards: with him, you'll be able to draw one card from the top or bottom of that pile, and return a Supernova card to the top. Essentially, he lets you set up the combo with your leader with pinpoint precision. Returning him to your hand is also a great idea, as he is also a +2000 Counter.

Jewelry Bonney OP10-107's effect is similar, but she only lets you return a character that costs 5 to your Life. She also works as a 3-cost blocker with 4000 power, and can attack for just a few DON!!.

Dracule Mihawk ST12-003 lets you put in play 2 characters at once on turn 2 or 3. You'll usually put Basil Hawkins OP10-109 in play with him. In fact, as one of Basil Hawkins' effects activates when he is Knocked Out, many players often just ignore him until it's too late. This combo is great to activate your leader's ability, and it often creates unexpected value from the Life card you reveal.
Roronoa Zoro OP10-113 also goes in play with Dracule Mihawk ST12-003, but he's a bit more fragile. He is best as a finisher, particularly through Trafalgar Law OP01-047 in later turns, as Law can put him in play.

Cavendish EB01-012 speeds up your game plan, as it readies 2 DON!! when it enters play or attacks. This card lets you set up aggressive plays and reuse searchers, all on the same turn. As a result, it is often the first card your opponents remove. It is also the first card you'll put at the top of your Life pile, and play for free on the board.
Jewelry Bonney OP07-026 is a "tempo play", as we say. Her On Play effect "Freezes" an enemy DON!! or character, so it doesn't let them untap it on the following turn. This will delay their key strategies, particularly if, on their next turn, they'd have 10 DON!!. You can also use it to disable a relevant attacker.
Trafalgar Law OP01-047 is a blocker with 6000 power and a powerful "entry" effect: it returns one of your characters to your hand and lets you play another that costs 3 or less. You can use him to create search loops with Luffy or Zoro, and also increase your defenses.

Trafalgar Law OP10-119 and Eustass"Captain"Kid OP01-051 will be your great finishers. Eustass"Captain"Kid OP01-051 creates a nearly impenetrable barrier, and then turns into a brutal attacker. As for Trafalgar Law OP10-119, it heals 1 Life, gives you a DON!! you can use to activate your leader's ability, and is an immediate, 9000-power threat.
Pros
Here are a few reasons to pilot this deck:
- Many decks struggle to deal with 5-cost characters.
- On turn 2 and 3, you can develop multiple 6000-power characters at once.
- You can "go wide" and put many characters in play, if you have to.
- It draws a lot of cards at once.

Cons
Here are a few weaknesses your opponents can exploit:
- Removals on the first few turns will delay your game plan considerably.
- Opening hands that don't have the most critical cards in this strategy will kill your game plan almost entirely.
- You'll need to know the meta pretty well to make the right decisions with this list.
- You'll need to keep an eye on how many cards you draw, how many you can hold in your hand, and if you have to discard any of them.
Mulligan
With this list, you're better off as the second to play. This way, you can take advantage of the many cards you'll draw. So, look for the cards below in your opening hand:

Matchups
Favorable
Enel OP05-098: this deck's strategy lets you Go Wide against Enel and "Freeze" their DON!! just before they get 10 DON!!. Furthermore, you won't have to worry about removals like Gedatsu OP05-102 because your most important characters all cost 5.
Monkey.D.Luffy OP05-060: the constant pressure you'll put on them is a real problem. They won't be able to get many DON!! from their leader's ability, so you'll be able to disrupt their game plan considerably. Freezing their DON!! or characters can be quite valuable in this matchup.
Unfavorable
Smoker OP02-093: when they remove your searcher and 5-cost characters, they'll disrupt you considerably, so you need to keep a close eye on their threats.
Marshall.D.Teach OP09-081: not being able to use your On Play abilities is terrible. Focus on developing multiple characters at once, and try to be wise whenever you need to make a decision.

Final Words
This green and yellow Supernova Trafalgar Law (OP10-022) list combines creativity, consistency, and nerve. It isn't the easiest to pilot, as you need to know how to read the board, control the game, and constantly keep an eye on your Life cards, but it is very rewarding if you master it.
This list truly shines if you enjoy micro-decisions, building value long-term, and unconventional effects. Playing it is like performing surgery every turn, which is a perfect representation of our Death surgeon.
If you want something unusual that explores unique mechanics, but can still hold its own on your casual or competitive tables, all while it teaches you more about the game, Trafalgar Law (OP10-022) is the perfect leader for your next adventure!
Would you bring this green and yellow Law to your tables?
